Why is a mobile number required?

A mobile number is required to open a Halocard account for security, verification and compliance purposes.


Halocard uses your phone number to send text messages for important alters including:


  • One-time login codes
  • Funds received to your Halocard account
  • One-time 3D-Secure codes (when required for online purchases)
  • New transactions on your Halocards
  • Security notifications


Usage of VoIP Numbers


Halocard does not recommend using Voice over IP (VoIP) numbers as they are often unreliable. Using a standard, post-paid mobile service helps ensure you receive time-sensitive text messages and transaction alerts without interruption.
