How do refunds work on Halocard?
Refunds are initiated and processed by the merchant, not by Halocard directly. When a merchant issues a refund, it will be sent back to the same Halocard that was used for the original purchase.
Refunds usually take 5–10 business days, however may take longer depending on the merchant, card network, or bank processing times. Refunds may also appear as pending on your Halocard account before they are completed.
What if my Halocard is locked or cancelled when a refund is received?
If your Halocard is locked, refunds will still be credited to your Halocard account as normal. If the Halocard has been cancelled, refunds will still be processed and credited to your Halocard account, even if the original Halocard used for the purchase no longer exists.
What if I can’t see the refund?
If you don’t see a refund, first confirm that the merchant has processed it. Refunds can take time to settle, so allow a few business days for it to appear and check your transaction history in your Halocard account. If the refund still hasn’t appeared after a reasonable period, contact Halocard support with the original transaction details so we can help track it.
Refunds vs disputes
Refunds are different from disputes or chargebacks. If a merchant does not issue a refund, or you believe a charge is incorrect or fraudulent, you may be eligible to raise a dispute instead. Please see: How can I dispute a transaction and request a chargeback?
